The MUSICAL project (Multimedia Streaming of Interactive Content Across mobiLe networks) aims at customizing an existing music application in order to be accessible through mobile networks and thus fully exploit the capabilities of 2.5 and 3G networks (personalization, ubiquity, high bandwidth etc).

MUSICAL will enable consumers to compose their Personal Radio Station Program (PRSP) or Personal Video-Clips Program (PVCP) and receive targeted multimedia content as well as personalized information through intelligent mobile devices.

MUSICAL (EDC-22131 MUSICAL / 27913) is partly funded by the European Commission within the context of the "eContent" framework (Action Line 2 "Enhancing Content Production in a Multilingual and Multicultural Environment" and Sub-line 2.1. "Fostering New Partnerships and the Adoption of Multilingual and Multicultural Strategies"). The project started in September 1st, 2002 and is scheduled to cover a period of 24 months.
